Pollinator Habitat In Practice: The Green Line – Where Science and Community Stewardship Meet
11:00 AM - 12:30 AM CDT
Seattle City Light, The Common Acre and several other community-based stewardship groups have initiated an effort to suppress tree and weed growth, while promoting pollinator habitat on a transmission right-of-way in the Duwamish Valley. The Green Line connects degraded remnant habitat fragments, extensive industrial barrens, underserved neighborhoods and the estuarine Duwamish River. This effort uses a novel mix of science-based adaptive management and community-based stewardship to improve a seemingly-hopeless pollinator habitat.
