Zoe Friedman

Zoe Friedman is a Research Associate for the Distributed Generation team at the Energy Resources
Center (ERC) -- an interdisciplinary public service, research, and special projects organization that
works to advance energy sustainability and improve the environment based out of the College of
Engineering at the University of Illinois Chicago. Zoe’s work is focused on modeling onsite energy
projects for commercial and industrial clients as part of the Department of Energy
(DOE) Onsite Energy Technical Assistance Program (TAP), the Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Combined
Heat and Power Feasibility Study Program, and the Illinois Environmnental Protection Agency
(IEPA) Climate Pollutions Reduction Grant (CPRG) Program to advance the reduction, capture, and
utilization of biomethane in high-value end-uses. She supports the implementation of efficient
distributed energy resources by providing technical assistance and modeling technology solutions
that align with site-specific energy needs.
Zoe holds a Master of Energy Engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago, and she holds a
Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Illinois State University.
