About

Faaran Bangash is an Energy Engineer at the Energy Resources Center (ERC)--an
interdisciplinary public service, research, and special projects organization that works to
advance energy sustainability and improve the environment, based out of the College of
Engineering at the University of Illinois Chicago. He is a member of the Industrial Energy
Efficiency team, where he performs no cost energy assessments for small to medium sized
manufacturing industries, and medium to large scale water and wastewater treatment plants
through the program funded by the Department of Energy.
Prior to working with the ERC, Faaran worked as a Mechanical Engineer in Pakistan in Solar
Industry. There he was part of the site engineering and sales team responsible for the sales,
designing, and commissioning of solar roof top systems for industrial, commercial, and
residential customers.
Faaran holds a Master of Energy Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a
Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from Pakistan. His interests include Energy Audits and
designing of HVAC systems on software tools such as REVIT
