About
Zoe Friedman is a Graduate Hourly Employee for the Distributed Power Generation team at the Energy
Resources Center (ERC) — an interdisciplinary public service, research, and special projects organization that
works to advance energy sustainability and improve the environment, based out of the College of Engineering
at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Zoe’s work is focused on modeling onsite energy projects for commercial and industrial clients as part of the
Department of Energy (DOE) Onsite Energy Technical Assistance Program (TAP). She supports the development
of efficient distributed energy resources (DERs) by researching and modeling available technology solutions
based on site-specific consumption data. Zoe holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Illinois State
University, and she is currently enrolled in the Master of Energy Engineering at the University of Illinois at
Chicago.
