Salvatore (Sam) Rinaldi

Sam Rinaldi serves as Program Coordinator at the Energy Resources Center
(ERC), an interdisciplinary public service, research, and special projects
organization working to advance energy sustainability and improve the
environment, based out of the University of Illinois Chicago College of
Engineering. Sam has 20+ years of dynamic leadership experience in business
development in Europe, South America, and the United States. Upon return
stateside, Sam has focused efforts on business development within the area of
energy efficiency across the Midwest. Among his memorable accomplishments
was the establishment of the Public Sector Trade Ally Program in partnership with
the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO/ Illinois State
Energy Office). Sam also serves as primary support and leadership on various
Midwest Cogeneration Association (MCA) committees. This organization advances
understanding of the carbon-reducing potential of combined heat and power
systems. Sam also continues to synergize efforts between regional utilities, OSP,
and public institutions to accelerate the adoption of energy efficiency measures.
Through assisting institutions such as K-12 schools, libraries, and municipalities
over the years, Sam has helped move the needle in reducing energy consumption
by guiding organizations through one capital improvement at a time. With a keen
understanding of where policy, business, and energy needs converge, Sam invites
anyone to learn more about collaborating with the Energy Resources Center to
answer their energy efficiency needs.
